Lava Suntan offers some of the most advanced tanning equipment in the industry today. Whether you are looking for professional U.V. tanning systems or the ultimate high pressure units – Lava has the answer!
When you shop for a tanning salon what are you basing your decision on? Price? Products? Equipment? What about all of those? Well, that’s why we have invested time and resources to discover the best way to maximize results safely and economically. From our SmartTan Certified and Master Certified staff to our strict maintenance schedule we’ve thought of every possible way to make the Lava Experience the Best Experience:
At Lava we use Professional Quality, European designed tanning equipment. We believe it’s important to offer name brand equipment so our customers are aware of what they are using. From Ergoline to SunCapsule we don’t hide our manufacturers with our own house labels that can be confusing and even misleading. Our beds start where the competition leaves off. Why are bigger more powerful beds better? Simple, more tan in less time….especially when you buy minutes!
Think all lamps are the same? Many people do since they all look alike, but they’re not. At Lava Suntan Studios we know that a tanning bed is only as good as the lamps inside so we are very particular about them. We use ONLY premium tanning lamps that are proven to give the best results in the industry. Just because the lamp is on doesn’t mean its tanning you. Within 100 to 300 hours of use new lamps are only averaging about 70%-80% of their peak performance output. As the lamps are used more and are constantly turned on and off the peak performance continues to decline. So measuring lamp life by hours alone is not an accurate measurement of output. Because there are so many variables to lamp life the only way to truly measure the output of a bed is by using a Solarmeter®UV Meter. A UV meter actually reads the output from the lamps and gives an accurate measurement of power. At Lava we rely heavily on our UV meters and our maintenance staff checks our lamps twice a week to ensure safety and consistency of tans. We even replace our lamps BEFORE the manufacturers suggested tolerances.
To achieve consistency and the safest tan possible it is important to maintain tanning equipment accurately and thoroughly. Our maintenance team is factory trained and SmartTan Master certified and understand the importance of properly operating equipment. We know our beds and we don’t just fix them if they breakdown, we conduct a weekly 25 point inspection of all our beds along with a regular internal cleaning program that ensures safe operation and consistent “up-time”. Something as simple as dust on a lamp can reduce the effectiveness of the bed by nearly 20%. So what does this mean to you? All this means you get a deeper, darker tan in less time, in beds that are providing maximum output, that are clean and working properly 100% of the time. Simple! Lava.
SMART TAN CERTIFIED:
Lava is part is part of the Smart Tan Network which provides training a Smart Tan certification to all of our employees. This helps us ensure that you are provided with the safest possible experience including recognizing different skin types, understanding exposure times and how to help customer avoid sunburn.
Tanning is natural, and it works the same whether you tan outdoors or in a salon. The advantage of using sunbeds is having complete operator control over the intensity and duration of a session, which results in minimal risk of an uneven tan or a sunburn.
When it comes to UV light, both summer sunlight and most sunbeds produce pretty much the same kind and mix of sunlight: about 95% UVA, and 5% UVB. The difference is that most sunbeds are 2-4 times more intense than summer sunlight. That’s the reason you only stay in a sunbed a few minutes.
Everyone’s skin is different. That’s why we conduct a complete evaluation, using the Smart Tan Skin Type System™ to determine your skin type and set your exposure schedule accordingly. Our system is designed to get you the best possible tan while minimizing the risk of sunburn.
